As part of a strategic project of the French Air Force setting up training for fighter pilots on Pilatus PC-21, under the Program Director responsibility and in a start-up context, you will be responsible for the implementation, development and management of the Safety Management System (Ground Operations, Flight Operations, Health and Safety).
You will have authority to ensure that all SMS processes are established and maintained in accordance with the objectives of Directorate General.
you will be in charge to:
  • Develop and update procedures for the operation of the Safety Management System;
  • Facilitating, coordinating, piloting and monitoring activities related to the SMS;
  • Manage the SMS documentation ;
  • Spread information related to security at all levels;
  • Establish verification mechanisms;
  • Organize feedback and ensure relevance;
  • Prepare and organize security reviews;
  • Ensure all detected events have been analyzed to appropriate depth regarding their severity level ;
  • Follow up safety related information in the aeronautical field;
  • Train staff in Human Factors and Safety aspects;
  • Perform security audits as well as internal audits and suppliers;
  • Conduct airworthiness reviews of aircraft monitored by the Maintenance Organization Management and maintained by the maintenance organization (FRA145)
Position based at Cognac in France.
Negotiable salary depending experience.
Required skills
In airworthiness reviews context, the Safety Manager must be eligible for the Airworthiness Review Agent qualification:
  • 5 years experience in continuing airworthiness;
  • FRA-66 license appropriate to the activity perimeter or an aeronautical diploma or equivalent;
  • Familiarization with the type (Level Type E qualification, for example), on the aircraft subject to the "I" privilege
  • 10 to 15 years experience in aeronautical (Maintenance, continuing airworthiness management, production, training, operations);
  • Level I diploma (eg Aero Engineer, Master Science Technology, Health);
  • Excellent aeronautical regulations knowledge (Part 145 and Part M appreciated);
  • Auditor training and proven experience;
  • Training in pedagogy;
  • Security culture and knowledge of his company: knowledge of the actors;
  • Risk management skills;
  • Project Management Skills;
  • Competencies in cross-functional management;
  • Knowledge of human factors;
  • Knowledge of the event reporting system and understanding of the importance of reporting events, incorrect maintenance data and existing or potential defects;
  • Proficiency in the organization work language and the documentation language used to develop services and products of the field of activity (Data Type, Maintenance Program, Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Component Maintenance Manual, Airworthiness Directive and Service Bulletin.
Any diploma and training course certificate in relation to the position will be highly appreciated.
European passport and fluent French are mandatory
